Three recent Grade I and Grade II races, The Gamely, Californian, and The Hollywood Oaks at Hollywood Park won by Joel Rosario. These races were masterful rides where Joel Rosario had to make split-second decisions to overcome unforeseen race scenarios (one during the Gamely where the pace came up unbelievably slow and he put the closer, Dubawi Heights, near the lead, another where he was forced to take up and steady and come from behind with Twirling Candy in the Californian, and also where he took "the hole shot" along the rail to beat heavily favored Plum Pretty). These incredible rides are just three other examples--amoung many in the past couple of years--why Joel Rosario is the greatest jockey in the world today.

Congratulations Joel Rosario! Our man Joel Rosario rides a masterful race and wins the $1 million TVG Jockey Club Gold Cup, the centerpiece of “Super Saturday” at Belmont Park. Two one million dollar races with masterful rides within a month--the $1,000,000 Pacific Classic and the $1,000,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup.What a money rider! He was on a dead stone closer, Flat Out, who is usually way farther back, he put him up 4th or 5th, in a genius ride!
